Glory Denied (Older Jim Thompson)
Opera Idaho
Boise, ID

After incredible reviews for performing the lead role of Older Jim Thompson in Syracuse Opera's production of Glory Denied, Gerbrandt will now join the team at Opera Idaho in the same capacity.  Gerbrandt has been seen in performance with Opera Idaho most recently in the title role of Tchaikovsky's Evgeny Onegin in early 2015, where a long-time arts critic from the Idaho Statesman wrote, "The phenomenally voiced baritone was a knockout as Onegin, not just looking the part as the suave and charing aristocrat, but with a voice that grew richer as the emotional stakes elevated."

Join Gerbrandt in this incredibly dramatic, heart-breaking, and true story about the longest held prisoner of war in American history and his return home from Vietnam.  You'll be captivated by this short opera detailing critical moments in the life of Captain Floyd James "Jim" Thompson.
